Job summary

Amazon in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to own design and delivery of large-scale, highly available components of AWS AppSync. You will drive architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with leaders to deliver features globally.

You will lead cross-team initiatives, set best practices for design, security, and operations, and influence the roadmap while solving complex scale challenges for API traffic worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale, highly available components of AWS AppSync.
• Drive the technical direction and architecture for significant areas of the service.
• Take on ambiguous, cross-team problems and turn them into clear designs and delivery plans.
• Raise the bar on operational excellence, security, and code quality through reviews and best practices.
• Mentor engineers and multiply the team's impact through technical leadership.
• Partner with engineering leaders to shape the roadmap and deliver features globally.
