About the Institutional Product Group

We create and maintain products for institutional customers, ranging from Hedge Funds to experienced individual traders, including Coinbase Prime, Advanced Trade, Custody, Web3 Wallet, Commerce, and Exchange. Our solutions cover trading, staking, governance, custody, web3 operations, and API integrations.

Role: Frontend Engineer

We are looking for experienced frontend engineers to develop the next generation of crypto-forward products, making cryptocurrency accessible worldwide.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain interactive, responsive frontend applications for onchain products.
2. Design, develop, and optimize smart contracts using Solidity for new onchain features.
3. Integrate onchain components with Coinbase backend services, addressing challenges like compliance and data indexing.
4. Prototype onchain experiences for early feedback.
5. Troubleshoot and debug fullstack issues, ensuring performance, stability, and security.

Minimum Requirements:

1. At least 5 years of software engineering experience, with a focus on fullstack features involving onchain components.
2. Experience developing fullstack web applications with JavaScript and frameworks like React and NextJS.
3. Strong understanding of Solidity and smart contract development for EVM-compatible blockchains.
4. Knowledge of frontend architecture, security, performance, and usability best practices.
5. Experience working with product and design teams throughout the development lifecycle.
6. Ability to write high-quality, tested, and maintainable code.
7. Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Solidity; familiarity with Go is a plus.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with rapid growth environments (startup to mid-size).
• Contributions to open source crypto projects.
• Experience with Golang, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB, or AWS.
• Background in building financial, high-reliability, or security systems.
• Crypto-related experience, including onchain activity like Ethereum interactions, ENS, or dApps.

Compensation and Benefits:

Target annual salary: $191,100 CAD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision).
