Job summary

Electronic Arts in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build across UI framework technology within Frostbite, collaborating with engine engineers and central technology teams. You will shape UI workflows and contribute to engineering of scalable tools used across titles.

You will apply AI-assisted development tools and lead migrations, taking ownership from design to delivery while driving improvements in UI technology at EA.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in C++.
  • Experience designing and building UI systems, frameworks, or tools in a game engine or large-scale environment.
  • Experience applying AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering workflows.
  • Contributed to large-scale migrations, modernization efforts, or architecture changes.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams, including distributed teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Initially develop user interface framework technology and, over time, contribute to scalable systems and tools across Frostbite.
  • You and your team will contribute to large-scale technical migrations and modernization efforts across Frostbite.
  • Apply AI-assisted tools and techniques across design, implementation, testing, and debugging to improve the quality and speed of delivery.
  • Partner with game teams to turn their requirements into engine and workflow improvements.
  • Take ownership of technical challenges from design through delivery as priorities evolve.
  • Communicate progress against technical commitments, sharing insights across our engineering organization.

Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build across tools, pipelines, and runtime tech using AI-assisted development workflows, initially focused on runtime user interface framework technology. You will have opportunities to grow your ownership across the engine and shape how we apply AI to game development at EA. You will report to an Engine Development Leader and collaborate with engineers across our game teams and central technology, and help build the future of UI technology at EA.

  • Contributed to large-scale migrations, modernization efforts, or architecture changes.
  • Experience collaborating effectively across multiple teams, including distributed teams working across different time zones.
Pay Transparency - North America
Compensation And Benefits

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES
  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$141,400 - $204,400 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

  • paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave)
