What it’s like to be a Senior Software Engineer - Duck Creek at Northbridge Financial

The Senior Software Engineer, Duck Creek is responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and assisting users with complex insurance systems built on Duck Creek, and coordinating the activities of a project team in an assigned business area as required. Senior Software Engineer, Duck Creek is required to develop features and support the business with rollouts and support around Duck Creek out-of-the-box capabilities which have been leveraged.

If you are great at:

  1. Interface with systems analysts, solution designers, IT architects, and business stakeholders, to understand how to best leverage Duck Creek solutions.
  2. Design, develop, test, and document Duck Creek engineering solutions within a complex software engineering environment to align technical and business goals.
  3. Working with a team of analysts, engineers, management, and business stakeholders to identify software engineering solutions while assessing technical and business suitability, and its impact to the enterprise’s systems.
  4. Assisting with daily operations and functionality of Duck Creek solutions and applications.
  5. Research, evaluate, and recommend operational procedures and best practices to optimize processes and workflow efficiencies.
  6. Develop and maintain a knowledge and understanding of company operations/procedures, and insurance industry trends/developments, to enhance the software engineering process.

If you have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree is preferred) and/or equivalent on the job experience.
  2. 8-10 years’ experience with Duck Creek product lines.
  3. 8-10 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.
  4. Hands-on familiarity with the Duck Creek Policy System Architecture and most Duck Creek Policy design and implementation features.
  5. Excellent knowledge of Duck Creek policies, latest features, and versions.
