Job summary

Morningstar Credit Ratings, LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement cloud-native microservices for high traffic data platforms. You will mentor peers, drive production readiness, and collaborate with data teams across global markets.

You bring 5+ years in enterprise Java, Spring Boot, and AWS, with RESTful API experience and strong design practices. Hybrid work is supported, with in-office collaboration four days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
• Strong programming experience with Java and Spring Boot; Python is a plus.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS with ECS, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, IAM.
• Strong knowledge of databases including SQL Server, Redis, MongoDB; data modeling best practices.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and scalable backend services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infra-as-code, and DevOps practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Experience with financial services or fintech data is a plus.
