Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Backend Engineer for Trust & Safety in a Toronto-based hybrid role. You will define roadmaps, lead cross-team projects, and craft scalable code in Python and Go. You’ll work with AWS and other cloud platforms to deliver high-impact safety features for millions of users.

You will collaborate across product, design, engineering and policy, mentor others, and participate in incident response and reviews. Hybrid schedule with strong Benefits.

Qualifications

• BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or relevant work experience).
• 5+ years of software engineering industry experience.
• Extensive experience in object oriented programming, ideally in GoLang or Python.
• Experience in backend software development of large-scale distributed systems and concurrency.
• Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners.

The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $136,000 - CAD $170,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
