Senior C# Software Engineer (Media Technology)

Location: USA, Canada, Remote

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior C# Software Engineer with a strong background in media technology to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge media applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative media solutions that enhance user experience and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain, and test 24x7x365 capable media-related software applications using C#, C++, and related technologies.
• Assist in the design of system architectures for media processing, streaming, recording, and playback solutions.
• Optimize code for performance, scalability, and quality.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering leaders, software architects, UI/UX designers, and other engineers in an Agile development environment to deliver comprehensive media solutions.
• Integrate third-party media SDKs and APIs into existing platforms.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior team members, and promote best practices in software development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex media-related issues in production environments.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in media technology and C# frameworks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in C# development of multi-threaded server-based applications
• Professional experience developing high performance code using C++, preferably for use within media-based solutions.
• Solid understanding of using parallel programming to improve performance in software applications.
• Strong understanding of video/audio encoding, decoding, compression, and digital media formats.
• Experience with media packaging and protocols such as HLS, DASH, Mimir.
• Experience with transport streaming with SRT is an added asset
• Experience with SMPTE 2110 and or JPEG-XS is an added asset
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
