Job description

As one of the fastest-growing commercial open-source projects in history (github.com / HeyPuter / puter), Puter is building the personal cloud operating system. We are a funded startup experiencing explosive growth, seeking a backend engineer to help scale our infrastructure as we redefine personal computing in the cloud.

What You'll Do :

1. Build and optimize backend systems that will power millions of personal cloud computers
2. Scale and improve our backend APIs for auth, storage, AI, database, and more
3. Improve stability to achieve 99.99% availability and beyond
4. Reduce latency and delay in system responses
5. Design user-friendly APIs and SDKs for developers

Requirements :

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong expertise in Node.js and MySQL
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Cloudflare, and Docker in production
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and database architectures
• Contributions to open-source projects are a plus

Compensation :

$120,000 - $170,000 + equity + benefits

Salary is influenced by qualifications, experience, and other considerations.
