Job summary

Loopio is looking for an experienced software senior to lead end-to-end feature development on our platform. You will design reusable frameworks, drive scalable backend/API work, and collaborate with our ML team to bring AI agents and knowledge-graph capabilities to market.

You will mentor engineers, promote testing and reliability, and help shape Loopio's AI roadmap. The role emphasizes user-centric, high-quality software and strong technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering complex software systems at scale.
• Strong experience in backend/API development in Python, Java, or PHP.
• Strong understanding of database design and MySQL or similar.
• Proficient in using and designing scalable RESTful APIs.
• Mentorship to other engineers through coaching, design, and code reviews.
• Exposure to AI technologies, particularly agents and LLMs, embeddings, or NLP.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Leading and rapidly building end-to-end features from scratch for Loopio's platform.
• Going beyond writing Python or Java: designing and shipping reusable frameworks and shared libraries that raise the bar for how every team at Loopio builds, so good patterns scale instead of being reinvented.
• Proactively build technology to prevent bugs as they come up, because you can't stand crappy software.
• Interact with and gather detailed feedback from our customers because you understand that creating a user-centric experience comes first.
• Partner closely with the ML team to design, integrate, and produce AI agents and knowledge-graph capabilities, turning research prototypes into reliable, well-evaluated features.
• Mentor and coach others, providing technical guidance and helping build an environment of knowledge-sharing and encouraging feedback. Contributing to Loopio's AI roadmap by evaluating third-party models, establishing patterns for agentic workflows and knowledge-graph-grounded retrieval, and defining technical and evaluation guidelines for AI-powered features.
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects through testing and by developing and maintaining automated tests to ensure high-quality and consistent releases.
• Following established development practices to maintain secure, reliable, and maintainable code.
• Comfortable leading technical design discussions and facilitating technical decision-making.

Requirements:

• Experience as a technical lead is a bonus.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven track record of designing and delivering complex software systems at scale.
• Strong experience in backend/API development in Python, Java, or PHP.
• Strong understanding of database design and RDBMS such as MySQL or similar.
• Proficient in using and designing scalable RESTful APIs.
• Mentorship to other engineers through coaching, design, and code reviews.
• Exposure to AI technologies, particularly around agents and LLMs (e. g., OpenAI, Claude, etc. ), embeddings, or natural language processing. While deep ML expertise is not required, familiarity with integrating or working with modern AI APIs is highly valuable.
• Comfortable guiding technical design discussions and facilitating technical decision-making.
• A growing passion for driving processes and improving software development productivity for your team.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party systems.
• Experience in frontend development, with a solid understanding of React and JavaScript.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and core services (e. g., EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, ECS/Fargate, and Lambda) to build, deploy, and scale resilient cloud-native applications.
• Experience in the following is a plus: TypeScript, Cypress, Elasticsearch, prior work in building or integrating intelligent features, such as semantic search, RAG, and integration with third-party apps.
