Overview

Senior Software Engineer role at Workhuman

The Opportunity

At Workhuman, we’re on a mission to make work more human by helping organisations celebrate, connect, and empower their people. We’d love you to join our eCommerce Development team, where you’ll work alongside talented engineers, organised in Squads and based across multiple locations, to craft a seamless, engaging, and personalised shopping experience for our store’s end users.

This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in our Dublin office three times per week.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our Principal Engineer and Squad members to scope and deliver impactful features.
• Primarily Back-End development (Java) with opportunities to contribute to Front-End projects (React).
• Collaborate with distributed development teams across locations, including participation in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Engage with DevOps and Architecture teams to move toward a continuous deployment model.

Tech Stack

The Skills You Will Bring

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise application design and development with Java, Spring (Boot), AWS, and React.
• Experience in an agile microservices-oriented development environment.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and common batch processing patterns.
• Strong database development experience with Oracle / SQL or Aurora.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing and test-driven development.
• Experience with AWS-based DevOps or CI / CD pipelines; familiarity with OpenSearch, Kafka, or AWS Lambda is advantageous.
• End-to-end ownership of features and a collaborative mindset for improving systems and ways of working.
