Base pay range

CA$150,000.00 / yr - CA$200,000.00 / yr

We’re looking to bring on a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join a fast-growing, YCombinator-backed startup that is solving complex data challenges at scale. The Role :

As one of their founding engineers, focused on the backend, you will play a crucial role in building and scaling a data-driven platform that powers critical business applications. You’ll work on core backend infrastructure, APIs, and integrations, enabling seamless and scalable data flows.

This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy architecting distributed systems, and are excited about solving high-scale data engineering challenges.

This is a hybrid role based in Toronto , requiring 4 days onsite and 1 remote day per week.

About You :

• You have 3+ years of backend development experience, focusing on scalable architectures and API development with a startup or midsize SaaS or product-led firm.
• You have experience with Node.js / TypeScript and AWS .
• You are highly skilled in API integrations, and building integrations for systems.
• You enjoy debugging complex distributed systems and optimizing backend performance.
• You thrive in a fast-moving startup environment, work effectively with team collaboration and are eager to take ownership on projects.

• 3+ years of backend development experience, specializing in scalable API architectures.
• Proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB).
• Strong background in system design, integrations, and debugging distributed systems.
• Bonus : Experience working with high-volume data pipelines.
