Software Engineer x2 - One Backend (Python) & One Frontend (React)

FULLY REMOTE - FLEXIBLE HOURS - MUST LIVE IN THE ADT or NDT (ATLANTIC CANADA)

Our trusted client has come to us for exclusively for support on augmenting their SW Engineering team in need of a Sr. SW Eng strong in Python and one in React (with some Python knowledge an asset).

They are a not-for-profit NGO with global operations. You will work with team members in South America and Europe. You'll be required to attend early ramp up meetings and then weekly and as needed (will be during core 'business' hours for all members) and otherwise assigned tasks that you can complete around your schedule. The expectation is 40 hrs a week or think 160 hrs a month.

The basic job description:

• Experience in handling ambiguity, simplifying requirements, and distilling use cases down to deliver solutions.
• Good problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong knowledge of software security best practices and the application of the secure-by-design and secure-by-default principles.
• 5+ years of software development experience, including Python.
• Strong fundamentals of working with a range of storage engines (MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, etc.)
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

It would help if you have…

• Experience with Agile methodologies, namely Kanban and Scrum.
• Experience with React.
• Experience with Stripe / PayPal or similar payment products (NOT REQUIRED FOR FRONT END ROLE)

As a not-for-profit our client does not have deep pockets. The rates for this work will be $36-40hr for incorporated consultants paid in USD. For those not incorporated we can discuss your options.
