Job summary

Virtusa is seeking an Azure Platform Engineer to design, implement and optimize cloud solutions in Azure. The role focuses on AKS, API Management, Application Gateway, WAF, and monitoring tools, ensuring reliable, scalable cloud operations.

The candidate will work with Terraform, Helm, and GitOps processes, supporting databases like MongoDB and SQL Server, and collaborating with DevOps for CI/CD pipelines. On-site in Halifax, Canada with strong security practices required.

Qualifications

• Azure Certification with hands-on experience in Azure services like AKS, API Management, Application Gateway and WAF.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, monitoring and automation in Azure.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Azure-based cloud services including AKS, API Management, Application Gateway and WAF.
• Manage and troubleshoot Azure services such as Event Hub, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Virtual Networks and WAF.
• Work with Kubernetes environments, troubleshoot deployments with Helm, monitor resource utilization, and support GitOps processes.
• Automate provisioning with Terraform and maintainIaC practices for cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot MongoDB and SQL Server databases ensuring high availability and performance.
• Monitor cloud health using Grafana and Azure Monitor with proactive alerts.
• Collaborate with development teams using Azure DevOps for repos and CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and maintain documentation on cloud infrastructure, deployments and runbooks.
• Perform root-cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive actions.
• Continuously optimize cloud services for performance, scalability and security.

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Azure Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Azure cloud services, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure API Management, Application Gateway and Web Application Firewall practices with 5+ years of industry experience with same technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Azure services, including Kubernetes, API management, monitoring tools, and various cloud infrastructure services. You will be responsible for providing technical support, managing cloud-based systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring smooth operation and optimization of services within the Azure ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Azure-based cloud services, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure API Management, Application Gateway, Web Application Firewall, Azure Monitor with KQL queries
• Manage and troubleshoot various Azure services such as Event Hub, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Virtual Networks and WAF
• Work with Kubernetes environments, troubleshoot deployments, utilizing Helm Charts, check resource utilization and managing GitOps processes
• Utilize Terraform to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in MongoDB and Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and performance
• Monitor cloud infrastructure health using Grafana and Azure Monitor, providing insights and proactive alerts
• Collaborate with development teams using Azure DevOps for version control (Repos) and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient deployment and integration processes
• Create and maintain detailed documentation on cloud infrastructure, deployments, runbooks and operational procedures
• Provide root-cause analysis for technical incidents, propose and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Continuously optimize cloud services and infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and security

Required Skills & Qualifications
