Then Jobber might be the place for you! We're looking for Senior Software Engineers to be part of our Product Software Engineering team.
At Jobber, we don’t just build a product - we work on real problems that help people in small businesses to become successful. We are inspired by our company values: be humble, be supportive and give a sh*t, which are not just said but are lived. We work in a collaborative environment where teams make decisions with autonomy and contribute directly to shaping the company’s future. We release early and often while dedicating time to addressing technical debt. We believe in getting instant feedback from our customers and leveraging that to make their lives easier.
We help employees grow professionally; we have a ton of onboarding resources, tutorials, hackathons, and buddies to support learnings and provide opportunities to innovate. We have a range of experience levels on teams which allow for mentor/mentee opportunities. Leaders at Jobber work with empathy and support employees to build a healthy work-life harmony. Bring your dedication and passion to this job to fulfill your goals.
Subscription Infrastructure: This team manages and improves the billing experience for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring customers can easily subscribe to our products. Beyond core billing systems and workflows, we enable teams to drive monetization and expansion through features like promotions and in-product marketing. Joining this team is an opportunity to build seamless experiences that drive business impact!
QuoteMeal: We power Jobber’s quoting and estimating experience, helping service providers win more work with less effort. We build flexible, high-impact web and mobile solutions that make quoting a seamless experience for our customers and their clients. Joining this team is an opportunity to create intuitive solutions that help service providers grow their business.
Bookkeeping: This team is on a mission to become the financial backbone of home service businesses. We build Jobber's bookkeeping product, integrating with financial platforms, syncing transaction data, and delivering accurate, trusted books that let small business owners focus on their craft.
Lending: This team supports our customers by offering quicker, easier access to funds and ensuring seamless syncing between Jobber and QuickBooks Online. For small businesses, having easy access to their revenue is vital for managing expensive day-to-day operations and seizing growth opportunities. Joining this team is an opportunity to develop solutions that provide the financial flexibility small businesses need to thrive!
Franchise: This team will build the foundation for Jobber’s customers franchise offering, helping franchisors and multi-location service businesses manage growth across brands, locations, users, permissions, reporting, and operational workflows. This team will tackle deep product and platform challenges, from scalable account architecture and Partner HQ experiences to lead routing, royalty reporting, onboarding, and partner-specific tooling. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how Jobber supports complex customers, starting with franchise groups while creating flexible systems that can grow into broader channel partnership needs.
At Jobber we never stop growing and learning, and you shouldn’t either. Through continuous 1:1s, dedicated feedback and support from your manager and our Learning and Development team, and your own sense of curiosity, we hope you develop to another level with your skill set.
Reporting to the Manager, Software Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with other Software Development members on a Scrum team to build an industry-leading product that helps our customers and their small businesses be successful. We’re looking for people who are ready to solve problems that millions of entrepreneurs are facing, using their experience to influence both a product and our team, all the while still working on developing their own craft.
In this role, it’s important that you’re a champion of best practices for well-tested, scalable, and well-organized code. In addition, you customize and extend tools and processes to increase the effectiveness of your team and mentor others to do the same.
We believe great collaboration is intentional, and sometimes that means coming together in person to build, brainstorm, and connect. To support this, the role is open to candidates based in one of our hub cities: Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo.
At Jobber, we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and supportive of your experience and growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $125,800, a midpoint of $147,900, and a maximum salary of $170,100, designed to reflect the progression from learning the ropes to truly excelling.
We design our compensation to reflect each new hire's skills, experience, and the complexity of the role, ensuring a fair and competitive salary. Our range is intentionally broad to support growth and long-term impact, with fully established hires typically starting around the midpoint. The higher end of the range is reserved for those who have demonstrated deep expertise and lasting contributions, while offers below the midpoint reflect strong potential with room to develop. This approach ensures that compensation aligns with both an individual's current capabilities and their opportunity for future growth.
Base salary is just one part of a total compensation package that will include equity rewards, annual stipends for health and wellness, retirement savings matching, and an extended health package with fully paid premiums for body and mind. Your professional growth matters to us too! You'll have access to a dedicated talent development program that includes career coaching and opportunities for career development. We believe in transparency and open conversations about compensation. If you have any questions about our approach, we're happy to discuss them throughout the hiring process!
We believe that diverse teams perform better and that fostering an inclusive work environment is a key part of growing a successful team. We welcome people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to working with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process.
