Senior Software Engineer - Shopify Specialist

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer - Shopify Specialist to lead and mentor our development teams. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain advanced e-commerce solutions using Shopify Liquid, Hydrogen React, and custom Shopify Apps. You will also integrate ERPs and third-party systems to create seamless, scalable solutions that meet our clients’ unique business needs. As a bridge between business requirements and technical execution, you will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of custom Shopify stores using Shopify Liquid for theme development and Hydrogen React for headless commerce solutions.
• Design and build custom Shopify Apps to extend platform functionality and meet specific client requirements.
• Integrate Shopify with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Odoo) and third-party tools (e.g., payment gateways, shipping providers, marketing platforms) using REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Optimize e-commerce storefronts for performance, security, and scalability, ensuring a seamless customer experience across all devices.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices in software development and version control.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify updates, including Shopify Plus features, and leverage them to enhance our solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on Shopify development.
• Expertise in Shopify Liquid for theme development and customization.
• Proficiency in Hydrogen React for building headless commerce solutions.
• Proven track record of integrating ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Odoo) and third-party systems with Shopify.
• Experience building and deploying custom Shopify Apps to extend platform functionality.
• Deep understanding of e-commerce best practices, including performance optimization, security, and scalability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor teams and work closely with clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Shopify Plus and its advanced features.
• Background in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
• Knowledge of headless commerce architectures and progressive web apps (PWAs).
• Experience with performance optimization tools and A/B testing.
