About the team + role

The Technical Assurance Platform team is on a mission to build the foundational tools that enable Robinhood’s engineers to own, operate, and scale reliable systems. Based in Toronto, this team creates platforms that serve every developer at Robinhood — from real-time incident management to comprehensive service metadata. We’re at the beginning the intersection of reliability, infrastructure, and operational excellence — and we’re just getting started.

As a Senior Software Developer, you\'ll be one of the founding engineers shaping this team’s direction and systems. You’ll build internal platforms from the ground up such as a full service catalog or reimagining our incident response tooling. You\'ll have a direct impact on the tools that drive reliability, quality, and insight across all services at Robinhood. If you\'re excited about building systems that engineers love to use, and solving foundational problems at scale, this is your team.

The role is located in the office location(s) listed on this job description which will align with our in-office working environment. Please connect with your recruiter for more information regarding our in-office philosophy and expectations.

What you’ll do
  • Lead the core software development of a next-generation service catalog capturing service metadata including ownership, SEV history, cost, risk, and more.
  • Design, build, and maintain internal full stack platforms, primarily focused on backend development with Go and frontend with React.
  • Enhance Robinhood’s incident response systems, by continuing to build out our internal software tooling and exploring integrations for the future.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques to support SEV detection, response automation, and post-incident workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and technical leads in both Toronto and Menlo Park.
What you bring
  • You have a proven track record building internal tools or platforms, especially in observability, service catalog, or incident management domains.
  • You are proficient in or willing to quickly ramp up on Go and React.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong ownership, architectural vision, and a collaborative, pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Bonus: Experience with tools such as Firehydrant, Firehose, or Backstage.
