Learn More About Us

We are founder-led and value-driven. Our product enables physiotherapists, mental health counsellors, chiropractors, and other allied health practitioners to run their practices digitally with features such as online booking, charting, scheduling, telehealth, secure payments and billing, and an evolving library of features. You can see more of them here.

There is often a high bar for the quality of work and for the care we show for each other and our customers. It’s about curiosity, drive to solve the right problems, and agility in learning new ways of thinking.

Jane offers autonomy and flexibility to help integrate work into your life. You can block out time for family or personal needs. We have Slack channels for parents and for subjects like plants, furry friends, food, pride, wellness, and more. We connect virtually and in person through departmental get-togethers, company retreats, or conferences across North America.

In short, if you are excited by our growth and eager to contribute to a challenging yet rewarding environment, we’d love to hear from you!

Your Role in Our Journey

Senior Software Developer to join JaneX, the team building Jane's AI-focused technologies. We recently launched AI Scribe to reduce admin time for thousands of practitioners. We are investing in how AI can support customer work in a responsible, practical, and delightful way. You will also build tools, systems, and infrastructure to power the next wave of Jane features across our development group.

The Impact You Could Have
  • Help improve and expand AI Scribe, Jane’s first AI-powered feature, by delivering high-quality, customer-centered enhancements that reduce admin work for practitioners.
  • Design and build core infrastructure for Jane’s AI platform, creating scalable tools and workflows that empower other teams to build AI features safely and efficiently.
  • Support other teams across Jane by co-developing technical solutions and guiding responsible AI adoption — from early ideation to production-ready tools.
  • Lead with technical depth, applying strong software engineering principles to architect resilient systems and meaningful APIs in a fast-evolving space.
  • Collaborate closely with design, support, and product to deeply understand customer needs and continuously test ideas — keeping empathy and utility at the core of every solution.
  • Shape the future of AI at Jane, helping define our internal standards, approaches, and roadmap for responsible and scalable AI product development.
The Experience We Feel We Need
  • A University Degree in Computer or a related STEM field plus approximately 10+ years of experience. Those with a Master’s or PhD may be considered with less experience. Alternatively, candidates with 13+ years of industry experience gained through non-traditional paths, such as bootcamps or self-teaching, are encouraged to apply.
  • Depth and diversity of experience at the Staff level across multiple products and companies, bringing a well-rounded perspective on development methodologies, problem-solving techniques, and team collaboration.
  • Extensive experience and ownership in design and architecture, making impactful architectural decisions across more than one team and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Proven experience leading technical efforts across multiple teams, driving decisions, and establishing best practices that uphold high standards and align with organizational objectives.
  • A desire to remain actively involved in coding while leading teams through technical challenges, balancing hands-on work with high-level strategy.
  • Actively involved in creating technical roadmaps that align engineering efforts with strategic business goals, and partnering with leadership to influence business direction.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, collaborating effectively with stakeholders, including Product Managers and Designers.
Compensation & Benefits

At Jane, we’re committed to paying fairly and clearly. This role has an annual salary range of $128,000 to $200,000. While that is a large range, it reflects the full growth journey in the role, from developing skills early on to becoming highly proficient and achieving excellence.

Most new hires join at the accomplished stage, which for this role represents an annual salary of $152,000. A starting salary below this typically indicates a candidate with strong potential who is still developing key skills. Salaries above this usually apply to existing team members with significant impact and Jane-specific knowledge.

We believe in paying for growth. You’ll have regular career development conversations with your manager and your compensation will grow as you gain experience and contribute meaningfully to our mission.

Paying clearly is one of our compensation fundamentals. Watch this short video to learn how our salary bands are set. You’re encouraged to ask questions about compensation at any point during the interview process.

We also offer a comprehensive benefits package; you can learn more here.

Jane is committed to fostering an environment that allows you to come to work as your truest self. We celebrate diversity and strive for an inclusive, equitable workplace. We do not tolerate discrimination or oppressive isms. Employment is based on qualifications, merit, experience, and the needs of the Jane community. We encourage anyone who requires accommodation during the interview process to let us know, and we will support you.
