Job summary

The Senior Software Developer at the University of Victoria works as part of a team to design, develop, troubleshoot, maintain and deploy software components for acquiring, publishing and processing data using Oceans 3.0. The Senior Developer reports to the Associate Director, Software Development with work assigned on a project basis.

This role leads scrum meetings and code reviews in support of the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Requires a university degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
• Minimum six years of related experience or equivalent.
• Strong design, development, testing and debugging abilities.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
• Ability to lead scrum teams and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, maintain and deploy software components for data management systems.
• Lead scrum meetings, documentation and code reviews.
• Collaborate across teams to implement Oceans 3.0 data platform.
• Ensure software quality with automated tests and CI pipelines.
