On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Senior Software Developer - Generative AI to join our Client's team on a contract basis. This role is Hybrid -2 days a month or as needed onsite and the Client is based in Richmond, BC.
Summary of the Role:
This role involves contributing to a cross-functional innovation team focused on developing intelligent, agentic systems using large language models (LLMs). The successful candidate will prototype and integrate generative AI technologies into enterprise workflows, advancing their practical application to solve complex problems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and build applications using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and open-source LLMs.
- Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Implement foundational patterns for multi-agent AI systems using tools like AutoGen, LangChain, or Semantic Kernel.
- Integrate LLMs into enterprise workflows and products.
- Utilize vector databases such as Qdrant, pgvector, and Cosmos DB.
- Leverage Azure AI services and models.
- Collaborate with product teams and data scientists on AI use cases.
- Develop strategies for prompt engineering, memory management, and task chaining.
- Maintain documentation on models, architecture, and workflows.
- Participate in Agile development practices and provide mentorship.
Core Requirements:
- 6-9 years of software development experience with recent work involving LLMs or AI integration.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks like OpenAI SDKs, LangChain, Hugging Face.
- Familiarity with C#, .NET Core, and object-oriented design.
- Understanding of agent-based design and tools such as AutoGen or Semantic Kernel.
- Experience deploying cloud solutions (Azure preferred) and working with CI/CD pipelines.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with RAG, GraphRAG, and embeddings.
- Use of vector databases such as Cosmos DB, pgvector, Qdrant.
- Strong documentation practices for AI architectures and processes.
- Engagement with current research and trends in generative and agentic AI.
- Ability to communicate AI concepts clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
Terms:
This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. The position follows a hybrid model requiring onsite presence in Richmond, BC, two days per month or as needed. The successful candidate must complete a background check and provide two professional references prior to offer.
