Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a Senior Software Developer, Data to join our Data team in the Engineering Department. You will own the systems and infrastructure the Data team relies on, including Snowflake infrastructure, CI/CD automation, developer environments, data quality frameworks, and the data catalog.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, with at least 2 years on data platforms or data infrastructure.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift).
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred; Python is a bonus).
• Experience with data ingestion platforms such as Fivetran or Airbyte.
• Strong engineering fundamentals—version control, code reviews, and reproducible builds.
• Experience implementing secure data practices to adhere to compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal tooling for the data team, including CLIs, automation scripts, dashboards, and productivity tools.
• Support deployment and production readiness of the team's conversational analytics product, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Define and manage Snowflake infrastructure as code via Terraform, including provisioning, access controls, and performance tuning.
• Extend and improve the data catalog (OpenMetadata) for discoverability and trust across the organization.
• Own data quality infrastructure and develop tests, monitoring, and alerts for data freshness and completeness.
• Establish reproducible local and development environments to minimize friction for team members.
• Collaborate with Tech Lead to design data platform architecture aligned with security and scalability requirements.
• Maintain a security-first approach to access patterns, credentials, and audit logging.
