Position Overview

Are you a software developer passionate about building and scaling cloud services for world-class design and construction solutions? Do you have the skills and experience to design and implement reliable SaaS products that handle large user bases and complex data flows? If yes, this is an exciting opportunity for you!

The Docs team in Autodesk AEC Construction R&D seeks a talented senior developer to work on cloud services and products for global customers. You will collaborate with international teams to deliver high-quality cloud services that enable customers to transition to a cloud-powered Autodesk experience.

This position is hybrid in Vancouver, requiring 1-2 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in the full software development lifecycle.
2. Collaborate with scrum team members to meet requirements from product managers and customers.
3. Design and develop scalable, reliable, fault-tolerant systems with minimal guidance.
4. Ensure optimal application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
5. Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and develop solutions.
6. Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
7. Be capable of full-stack development when necessary.
8. Write detailed code, perform peer reviews, and contribute to technical discussions.
9. Share best practices and promote them within the team and community.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Over 5 years of software development experience.
2. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and OOP.
4. Understanding of web architecture (data, application, web tiers).
5. Experience with Node.js backend programming.
6. Experience with relational databases (e.g., Postgres).
7. Experience developing RESTful web services and integrating with clients.
8. Understanding of cloud services (Infrastructure as Code, CDK, or similar).
9. Experience in large-scale software development.
10. Experience with distributed cloud and high concurrency is a plus.
11. Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools.
12. Ability to work in an Agile team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with Java backend development.
2. Experience with AWS services.
3. Knowledge of database technologies.
4. Strong problem-solving skills for complex systems.

Salary Transparency

Starting salary in BC ranges from $98,600 to $144,650, depending on experience and location, plus bonuses, stock, and benefits.
