Job summary

Ontario Teachers’ is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications supporting OTPP Investment planning, liability assessment, and performance measurement. You will collaborate with Technology, Investment Risk, and business units, contributing to the full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment and ongoing support.

The role emphasizes cloud-based development using Azure services and modern tech stacks (Angular, .NET Core, Python, SQL).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional software development experience.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with exposure to the full project lifecycle.
• Advanced knowledge of current information systems theories, concepts, and techniques.
• Strong practical experience and knowledge of service-oriented design and development.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing cloud-based applications using Azure Services (AKS, Azure AD, Azure Key Vault, Azure Batch Service, Azure Storage, etc.).
• Minimum 5 years of experience with current software development techniques: Web Development (Angular 19+, NgRx, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, WebAPI/REST), .NET Core (C#), Python, Relational database platforms (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud data solutions (Snowflake), DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tooling (GitHub, Jenkins, Helm, Nexus), Automation testing frameworks such as Playwright.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for interactions with business partners and people of varying levels of technical expertise.

• Complete an acceptable volume of work while communicating the status of personal work plans and tasks required to design, develop, and test assigned portions of projects.
• Maintain currency in technological trends and directions by continually upgrading personal technical and IT-related skills through research, education, and self-motivated technology experimentation.
• Participate in and/or lead new technology investigations and make recommendations for technology adoption where appropriate.
• Collaborate with business partners, understand business use cases, and propose technical solutions to support business needs.
• As directed, lead technical projects and mentor junior development staff.

The opportunity

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of applications that provide services and solutions to business partners, and contributes business and technical knowledge to complex IT projects. This includes participating in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and analysis to design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

What we’re offering

This position is eligible for base salary and annual incentive based on individual and enterprise performance.Base Salary starting at $112,300 to $122,300 with future opportunity of up to $133,900.
