Job summary

Plusgrade Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Developer for Montreal to re-engineer how software is built by weaving AI into production.

You will own end-to-end features, connect databases and APIs to elegant UIs, and design resilient distributed systems that scale as we expand globally. You will mentor teammates, uphold production health, and drive architectural decisions while embracing emerging AI tools to stay ahead of the curve.

Qualifications

• Build robust full-stack web applications with Python and TypeScript, pairing backend with modern frontend frameworks.
• Design and optimize relational data models in PostgreSQL or MySQL, and run services in AWS/Kubernetes.
• Drive AI-enabled engineering practices, creating shared workflows and automated checks to raise engineering standards.
• Own production health, code quality, and architectural trade-offs with clear communication.
• Mentor teammates and translate complex problems into clean, tested systems.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end full-stack features for our guest-facing hospitality platform, connecting DB schemas and APIs to intuitive UIs.
• Design distributed systems, run high-impact experiments with product teams, and troubleshoot production challenges to maintain reliability.
• Set the technical bar for the team and evaluate emerging AI tools and guardrails.
• Lead architectural decisions and mentor other engineers to improve code quality and scalability.

Senior Software Developer- Montreal Only

Our hospitality team builds the upsell engine behind millions of guest journeys, and right now we need a senior engineer who wants to re-engineer how software gets built by weaving AI into every phase of production.

What You'll Be Doing

You will own full-stack web application features end to end across our guest-facing hospitality platform, connecting database schemas and backend APIs directly to intuitive user interfaces. Most of your days will be spent designing resilient distributed systems, driving high-impact experiments alongside product teams, and troubleshooting complex production challenges to keep reliability uncompromising. Agentic workflows assist our code production, review iterations, and automated testing suites, letting your squad deliver reliable software faster while you focus your time on high-leverage architectural decisions. You will set the technical bar for the team, continuously evaluating emerging AI tools and safe guardrails to keep our engineering practices ahead of the curve.

• You build robust full-stack web applications with Python and TypeScript, pairing deep backend architecture with modern frontend frameworks like React or Vue.
• You have hands-on experience designing and optimizing relational data models in PostgreSQL or MySQL, alongside operating services in cloud environments like AWS and Kubernetes.
• You have structurally changed how your engineering teams operate around AI, creating shared workflows, automated testing checks, or internal tooling that raised the bar for everyone around you.
• You take full accountability for production health, code quality, and technical designs, communicating architectural trade-offs with clarity to both technical and non-technical partners.
• You elevate the developers around you through active mentoring, honest feedback, and a drive to turn complex engineering problems into clean, well-tested systems.
