• Experience working with Microsoft SQL or another relational database.

• Regular experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of your workflow.

The Opportunity

We’relooking for a Senior Software Developer to join a small development team working on large, multi-month projects across our platform. This is a hands‑on senior individual contributor role whereyou’lltake ownership of technical delivery, work closely with other developers, and help turn requirements into software that is secure, testable, and built to last.

The role is full-stack, butleans heavily toward backend development. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on new products and AI capabilities being built directly into theVocantasplatform.

Location: Remote

The salary range for this role is $110,000–$125,000 per year. Final compensation will bedeterminedbased on experience, skills, and location.

WhatYou’llOwn

Build and deliver complex product work

• Design and develop backend services using .NET 9 and C#, alongside frontend functionality using Vue.js or similar JavaScript frameworks.

• Take technical ownership of significant pieces of larger projects, from design through development, testing, and delivery.

• Break down work so it can be clearly shared across a small group of developers.

• Build secure, reliable software for customers operating in industries where security and system reliability matter.

Technical design and architecture

• Apply domain-driven design andmicroservicesprinciples to real product problems.

• Design andoptimizerelational databases, including Microsoft SQL.

• Build andmaintainREST APIs, asynchronous messaging, and distributed systems.

• Identifytechnical blockers early and work with the team to find practical solutions.

• Leadcode reviews andmaintainstrong standards for quality, security, performance, and maintainability.

AI-assisted development and product innovation

• Use AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude aspart of your day-to‑day workflow.

• Contribute to AI functionality being built directly intoVocantasproducts.

• Help evaluate models and approaches based on factors such as performance, cost, reliability, and the problem being solved.

• Work closely with Product, QA, and other developers to turn requirements into working software.

• Experience with message brokers, asynchronous systems, or high‑traffic distributed applications.

• Experience working with secure software in healthcare, manufacturing, or another environment with strong security requirements.
