Job description

What will be your daily pursuit? Your daily pursuit is leading the retail team in offering unique, locally inspired products while creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

What will your compensation be? The starting salary for this position is $19.50 per hour.

What will you do in this job?

  • Oversee the sales of all souvenirs, jewelry and clothing.
  • Supervise and assign duties to department employees.
  • Assist in all retail functions.
  • Provide leadership and accountability.
  • Plan, direct and evaluate daily operations.
  • Implement price and credit policies, balance daily transactions.
  • Determine staffing requirements, recruit and train staff.
  • Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages.
  • Coordinate and execute inventory activities.
  • Plan and organize product receiving and distribution.
  • Receive, count and store inventory and assets.
  • Maintain high standards of work accuracy.
  • Keep the workplace clean and organized.
  • Heavy lifting up to 25lbs required.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • 2-3 years' experience working in retail.
  • Experience using point of sale systems, RTP / Retail Pro an asset.
  • Ability to manage and inspire up to 5 employees.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Personable and a strong ability to lead a team.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
