Job summary

Mark Anthony Group in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Senior SOC Analyst to serve as the core escalation point for complex security events, leading investigations, containment, and forensic collection across hybrid cloud, network, and endpoint environments.

You will monitor alerts, conduct log analysis, and help implement detection logic and response playbooks while collaborating with IT teams to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, data, and networks.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in cybersecurity or related IT role.
• Post-secondary education in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows administration.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Experience with MDR, EDR, SIEM and incident response processes.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2.
• Analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Ability to communicate technical risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and coordinate response to security alerts/incidents from MDR, EDR, SIEM.
• Monitor and triage security events and escalate critical incidents.
• Conduct log analysis and threat hunting across endpoints, network, cloud, and identity platforms.
• Investigate, document, and report security incidents with audit logs.
• Support IAM processes including privileged access reviews and secure remote access.
• Monitor and maintain network security operations including firewall reviews.
• Contribute to SIEM onboarding data sources, developing detection use cases, tuning rules.
• Support security policies, standards, playbooks, procedures, and documentation.
• Respond to security assistance requests with IT Operations, Risk, Compliance, Security Engineering.
• Recommend enhancements to tools, processes, alert quality, and incident response.
