Job summary

Cvent, Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to design, optimize, and secure its Snowflake-based data platform across AWS. You will collaborate with product and data teams to scale the enterprise data stores and ensure high availability.

The role requires hands-on Snowflake administration, PostgreSQL/MySQL/Aurora experience, and expertise in automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. You'll help drive best practices for a resilient data foundation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or IT
• 4-7 years in database engineering, 3+ years Snowflake administration
• Snowflake expertise: warehouses, RBAC, data sharing, Snowpipe/Streams
• Experience with AWS databases (Aurora, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB)
• Python or PowerShell scripting for automation
• IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
• ETL/ELT tools like dbt or Airflow with Snowflake pipelines
• Strong SQL and data modeling knowledge

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage Snowflake data platforms on AWS
• Architect and optimize Snowflake environments and cost strategies
• Collaborate with teams to meet data requirements
• Implement security policies and backups/recovery procedures
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot Snowflake/AWS databases
• Optimize queries via clustering and materialized views
• Maintain documentation and data models
• Automate provisioning with IaC tools and scripting
