We’re currently searching for a Senior SME, Turbines and Rotating Equipment to join our team.
The Senior SME, Turbines and Rotating Equipment provides technical knowledge and performs Owner’s Engineer (OE) tasks for rotating equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines and related equipment. This role covers the scope of responsibility from potential asset acquisition to the reliability, operations and maintenance of rotating equipment and associated assets across the fleet. This role ensures compliance with Capital Power and regulatory standards, and does thorough work in the optimization, sustainability, maintainability, design, construction, and commissioning phases of various works.

What you will bring to the role:
Education:
Completed Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Registered P.Eng. in a Canadian province.
Experience & Technical Skills:
15 years as a Mechanical Engineer with Power Generation experience.
Comprehensive Mechanical Engineering experience with a background in steam and combustion turbines; rotating equipment and vibration analysis; maintenance, reliability, design, construction, and commissioning experience; project and contract management experience; preference for turbine OEM experience.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Familiarity with CMMS, electronic drawing management systems, and SharePoint.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with 20% travel for project and plant maintenance support across North America.
Additional Details:
This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. Additionally, it is open to candidates in Edmonton or Calgary.
As this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug & alcohol test is required, subject to applicable law.
