Job summary

Moving2Canada Consulting Inc. seeks a seasoned Site Superintendent to lead field operations on multi-family, mixed-use, commercial and institutional projects in the Vancouver region.

You will enforce safety programs, align work with design, budget and schedule, and supervise field staff, contractors and subcontractors. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in a superintendent role, with a post-secondary credential in construction management or related field; Red Seal Carpenter or Gold Seal

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction experience as a Superintendent or similar supervisory role.
• Post-secondary credential in construction management or related field.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental practices.
• Solid understanding of current construction practices.
• Ability to guide safe work in high-pressure environments while maintaining quality, schedule and budget.
• Knowledge of construction documents, contracts, costs and budgets.
• Knowledge of scheduling and project management.
• Clear communication with multiple stakeholders and ability to identify solutions.
• Identify constructability issues and devise solutions.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments and trades.
• Strong organizational and planning skills; manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook; familiarity with scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the Safety Program and ensure safety/environmental standards are met.
• Ensure construction aligns with schedule, budgets and contract documents.
• Execute work per plans, contracts, drawings and shop drawings; coordinate changes.
• Lead and coordinate temporary staff, trades, suppliers and assistants on site.
• Prepare weekly production schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Address inadequacies in contracts/plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Review trade contracts and scopes for discrepancies with project requirements.
• Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, constructability, durability and economy.
• Analyze budget assumptions with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate inspections with authorities and ensure compliance.
• Chair and document regular trade meetings; liaise with client/architect.
• Collaborate across departments to meet client objectives efficiently.
• Oversee multiple teams or large projects and foster teamwork.
