What is the opportunity?

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) solutions for applications supported by the QTS DevOps team. As part of the Engineering team within the QTS DevOps group, this role collaborates with the Development arm and other IT partners to succeed. The candidate should have intermediate experience in application development, DevOps, or technology operations. The role includes production support, incident management, and problem resolution in partnership with DevOps Support and Development teams.

What will you do?

• Drive process automation and continuous improvement
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DevOps components and infrastructure
• Act as an escalation point during on-call rotations, supporting maintenance, releases, and scheduled work
• Participate in incident and problem management, including RCA ownership
• Enhance productivity, monitoring, tooling, and best practices
• Manage technology updates, patches, and compliance with automation in mind
• Communicate regularly with RBC partners and teams across Canada and worldwide

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• Hands-on experience with SRE tools and languages such as Terraform, Ansible, Dynatrace, ServiceNow, GitHub, Slack, Elastic, Kibana
• Intermediate knowledge of industry practices, especially in SRE and DevOps
• Experience with Cloud, Linux/Unix/Windows, APIs, and databases
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to influence at an SRE level within DevOps teams

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with DevOps tooling such as Sonatype Nexus, JFrog Artifactory, GitHub Actions
