Job summary

Magnet Forensics in Ottawa seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and operate scalable, secure AWS network architectures. The role focuses on multi-account and multi-region connectivity, private networking, and automation within CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with Security, Platform, and Applications teams and participate in a technical interview covering infrastructure and automation code.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in networking or computer science.
• Strong AWS networking expertise (VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, VPN).
• Experience with multi-account and multi-region architectures.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS network infrastructure, including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Route 53, VPNs, and connectivity between accounts and environments.
• Implement and manage secure networking solutions using security groups, network segmentation, and private connectivity patterns.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation, integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues involving DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud services.
• Partner with Application, Platform, and Security teams to design and support secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Monitor network health, investigate incidents, and drive improvements that increase reliability and operational efficiency.
• Write and maintain automation, tooling, and scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to cloud networking standards, DevOps practices, and operational excellence while ensuring alignment with security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST.

Role Overview

We areseekinga highly skilled and motivatedSenior DevOps Engineerto join our dynamic team and play a key role in designing, implementing, andoperatingscalable, secure, andhighly availablenetwork architectures in AWS.

This rolewill be part of the engineering organization and responsible for building and managing complex multi-account, multi-region network topologies, ensuring secure and efficient connectivity between services, environments, and cloud regions.

As a member of a technically diverse team,you’llpitch in across domainslike Security and SaaS Opsat times as well.

Please note: This role includes a technical interview where you’ll be expected to discuss, review, and troubleshoot code related to infrastructure and automation.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain AWS network infrastructure, including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Route 53, VPNs, and connectivity between accounts and environments;

Compensation & Benefits

The Compensation range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location and you are selected for an interview, the Talent Acquisition Partner can share more information with you. If the compensation structure for the role includes an incentive component (i.e. most Sales roles) the range below represents total target compensation (TTC) (base salary + variable).

$120,000 - $170,000 (CDN) a year
