Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. Our customers include major public cloud and silicon providers, and industry leaders across sectors. We are a pioneer in global distributed collaboration, with 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries and few office-based roles. Teams meet periodically in interesting locations worldwide to align on strategy and execution.
The company is founder-led, profitable, and growing.
Next-gen operations at scale, using Python infra-as-code, from bare metal to containers and applications. Our goal is to perfect enterprise infrastructure devops.
We manage hundreds of private cloud, Kubernetes, and application clusters for customers across physical and public cloud environments, pushing automation boundaries with a universal operator pattern and model-driven operations.
Success in this role requires believing in automation as a software engineering problem, an interest in scientific operations at scale driven by metrics and code, and the ability to learn the entire stack, from networking and kernels to serverless and open source applications.
Our cloud operations engineers apply Python skills and rigor to operations, practicing devsecops from bare metal to applications. We architect and operate OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined storage, enabling devsecops for applications on that infrastructure.
To join the team, you should be a Python-fluent software engineer, interested in the full open source infrastructure stack, and capable of working under high pressure with mission-critical services for global clients.
Gain experience with a broad range of cloud technologies, staying current as technology evolves, and helping upgrade solutions for our customers.
