Overview

Location: LNGC - Kitimat, BC

Position:Permanent / Full-Time / Local candidate or willing to relocate

Work Schedule: 5 on and 2 off working 8 hours per day

Hourly wage: $90.00-$100.00 per hour

Shift: Day Shift

Reporting to: VP, Corporate Operations

Job Purpose

The Senior Project Manager will be actively engaged in all site activities related to maintenance, capital projects, and turnarounds at the LNG Canada Site in Kitimat, British Columbia. This includes customer relationship management, work execution and project control, site planning and organization, and quality, health, safety, and environment policy implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Displays a commitment to Waiward’s incident-free vision, values, and culture.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for all things related to the execution of the contract agreement.
  • Helps to build and organize a team of individuals executing routine, non-routine and campaign maintenance.
  • Prioritizes workload and focuses on mission critical tasks.
  • Exercises due diligence in review of customer contract and specifications to ensure that our internal processes and procedures are compliant.
  • Set-ups and maintains project management files in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Exercises due diligence in managing changes to the contract:
    • Provides timely notice to customer in accordance with contractual requirements.
    • Manages contract change costs through Waiward’s system and invoices costs in a timely manner.
  • Prepares, submits, and updates project budgets including internal cost control, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
  • Ensures that customer acceptance of contract values, budget values, change values are in place to facilitate timely billing of all costs.
  • Reviews and approves all site expenditures.
  • Works with our customers to establish our planning & scheduling workflow. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of project schedules and plans.
  • Administers and/or participates in all site coordination meetings.
  • Compiles data and information for historical statistical database.
  • Performs estimating duties and coordinates with off-site estimating team to complete proposals.
Qualifications
  • Post Secondary Education, Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in related field.
  • 15 or more years of related construction and/or maintenance experience.
  • 5 or more years’ experience as a Project Manager or in a progressive supervisory role.
  • Experience working with unionized labour and under collective agreements.
  • Proficient with common industry software including Microsoft Office suite, Primavera etc.
  • Strong collaboration skills and an ability to exercise good judgement, aligned with our corporate values.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and in an appropriate style.
  • Capable of identifying straightforward problems, generating possible solutions and assessing those solutions against the company’s standard procedures and guidelines.
  • Excellent bidding, purchasing, negotiating, contracting, and budgeting skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize a large workload.

Working Conditions

This position is required to work on the LNG Canada Site in Kitimat, BC working with site leadership. This position will be working on a construction site with moderate noise, extreme temperatures, numerous hazards including equipment, and being exposed to normal office routines.

The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs, climb ladders, work at heights and in confined spaces. This role may require work outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold), carrying objects, driving, and being exposed to normal office routines.

Physical Requirements

The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
