Job summary

McMaster University’s Centre for Simulation-Based Learning seeks a Simulation Specialist to operate and maintain high‑fidelity simulators and AV systems during training sessions. The role collaborates with faculty to design scenarios and supports research initiatives in healthcare education.

The successful candidate will manage setup and teardown, assist with repairs, and help develop new courses and simulations for a wide range of programs at the CSBL. Hybrid onsite work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field.
• Requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, includes credit for a 3 year Community College diploma in Respiratory Therapy.
• Certified Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRRT).

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and programs simulation and audio-visual equipment during training sessions.
• Designs, programs and tests simulation scenarios for educational programs.
• Collaborates with faculty in design, development, and evaluation of new courses and simulation tools.
• Writes sections of research publications.
• Oversees maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Trains end-users in operation of equipment and supports project needs.
