Job summary

Koch seeks a Senior Si Photonics Design Engineer to join the PIC Components & Technology Development team. You will design, implement, and validate photonic components and circuits for next‑gen optical connectivity, collaborating across global teams and with supplier partners.

The role emphasizes EVT/DVT, layout collaboration, and integration of PICs into final products, with a focus on SiPhotonic devices and passive/active components.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
• At least 2 years of photonic/electrical device design experience.
• Experience with photonic and optoelectronic devices.
• Experience with CMOS backend processes.
• Experience with design tools such as Lumerical, COMSOL, FIMMPROP.

Responsibilities

• Design SiPho components and devices using commercial tools for PAM4 and coherent pluggables.
• Design experiments and analyze EVT/DVT test data.
• Collaborate with external foundries and global layout teams for GDS layouts.
• Work with SI/PI and packaging teams for reliable integration of PICs.
