Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Semantic Model Developer in Mississauga to design, develop, optimize, and maintain enterprise-grade semantic models, dashboards, and reports for banking and financial services clients. You will translate complex requirements into scalable Power BI solutions, maintain data lineage, and optimize performance across data warehouses and cloud platforms.

The role requires deep expertise in Power BI, SSAS Tabular, DAX, SQL, and dimensional modelling, with a strong focus on

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in BI, data warehousing, analytics, data modelling, or reporting development.
• Demonstrated experience in banking or financial services.
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Power BI semantic models.
• Strong experience with SSAS Tabular, Azure Analysis Services, or comparable platforms.
• Experience with SSAS Multidimensional or OLAP cube development is preferred.
• Advanced SQL and T-SQL development skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI semantic models and cubes.
• Develop and support SSAS tabular models and multidimensional cubes where applicable.
• Translate banking/reporting requirements into scalable data models and metadata.
• Create reusable model components, measures, and time-intelligence solutions.
• Publish and manage semantic models and reports within Power BI Service.
