Qualifications

  • Experience with brands like Kantech, KeyScan, Bosch, Salto, Avigilon, I3, TOA, AXIS, Indigo Vision, Milestone, Genetec.
  • Knowledge of wiring for panels and devices.
  • Networking and IP knowledge.
  • Good physical condition and health and safety awareness.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.

Marcomm Integrated Business Solutions, part of the Telecon Group of Companies, is seeking an energetic and career-minded Senior Security Technician / Installer for commercial projects in the Ottawa area.

The Security Technician will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of security systems, ensuring timely responses and professional customer service.

The role focuses on security projects within a commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation (pre-wiring, configuring, programming, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting) and maintenance of security systems including CCTV (IP & Analog), Card Access, Public Address, intrusion panels, and intercom systems
  • Configuration and basic troubleshooting of LAN/WAN networks
  • Responding to customer inquiries and providing training on system usage
  • Completing detailed paperwork
  • Performing additional tasks as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in security system installation or service
  • High school diploma; post-secondary education in security, electronics, or IT is a plus
  • Experience with brands like Kantech, KeyScan, Bosch, Salto, Avigilon, I3, TOA, AXIS, Indigo Vision, Milestone, Genetec
  • Knowledge of wiring for panels and devices
  • Card access certifications are advantageous
  • Networking and IP knowledge
  • Data, voice networks, and telephony experience are assets
  • Good physical condition
  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Working at Heights and Fall Arrest Certification is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle

Additional Requirements:

  • Pre-employment criminal background check
  • Willingness to obtain or hold GOVERNMENT OF CANADA SECURITY CLEARANCE (Reliability or Secret)
