Senior Security Service Technician

As a progressive and fast-growing electrical/security service company, we pride ourselves on providing a professional trade experience. Shel-Bar focuses on medium to large-scale access control and video management systems, prioritizing our clients' requirements.

We are seeking a motivated, attentive, and hardworking Network Specialist with experience in security access control, video management, and audiovisual systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience installing emergency communications and security systems, with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Server, Networking, and switches. Certification or knowledge of Genetec and Axis systems is an asset.

Requirements:

  • Perform service and commissioning activities on access control, CCTV, intrusion alarms, and intercom systems
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for audio and video systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with security Access Control systems
  • Genetec Certification preferred
  • Proficient in SQL and Windows OS
  • Electronics diploma preferred

Position Description:

  • Programming servers in Windows environments (SQL, Microsoft Server, Management Studio, Server Manager)
  • Lead project completions under the Project Manager
  • Install and service IP-based and analog CCTV systems (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon)
  • Build equipment racks, pull cables, and prepare equipment for installation
  • Install racks, projectors, monitors, videowalls, and mounts
  • Test system components to ensure completeness and compliance
  • Demonstrate electrical and electronic knowledge
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems as needed
  • Understand IT network systems
  • Program and test non-routine security systems and equipment
  • Operate and commission systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Interpret electrical drawings
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Provide excellent customer service with professionalism
  • Pay attention to detail and work as a team player
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • Physical installation and tool experience an asset
  • Ability to work alone or with others
