Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Senior Sector Controller to lead a team of sector controllers and senior district accountants, ensuring accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting and strong analytical support for close processes.

You will review balance sheets and client billings, partner with Operations and senior management to explain results, and assist audits and compliance while upholding internal controls and onboarding new business.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting.
• Accounting Designation or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years Financial Accounting experience in a computerized accounting environment.
• Exceptional analytical skills and the initiative to solve problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Sector Controller and Senior District Accountants.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Provide accounting and financial analysis to ensure accurate financial statements within deadlines.
• Review the balance sheet and operating statement analysis, guiding issue resolution.
• Review client reporting and billings to ensure financial and contractual obligations are met.
• Partner with Operations and senior management to explain financial results and support decisions.
• Support internal, external, and client audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Support onboarding of new business and identify process improvements.

Job description

The salary range for this position is $88,000 to $105,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role.
