Job summary

Analyst Technical Solutions seeks a Scrum Master to lead Agile ceremonies and coach teams onsite in Toronto. You will guide the delivery methodology, ensure effective collaboration between the development teams and the Product Owner, and help remove blockers to maintain high performance.

The role requires a solid background in Scrum, DevOps tools, and stakeholder management, with a focus on educating teams and sustaining a collaborative, enterprise-grade delivery environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar agile certifications.
  • Strong understanding of both Scrum methodology and business analysis frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and processes, particularly CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and ensure productivity in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Title: Scrum Master

Description

Responsibilities

Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on specific project methods. Prepares training materials, training sessions on project delivery methodology in accordance with guidelines. Acquires, customizes, documents, integrates, communicates and implements comprehensive IT standards and guidelines.

General Skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile Information and Information Technology (I&IT) methods and techniques associated with the development and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus building, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and proven ability to do effective stakeholder management
  • Knowledgeable and experience in Agile methodology and ability to educate others
  • Experience facilitating the relationships between the Agile team and product owner and maintaining a safe working environment for the team by helping with conflict resolution
  • Experience leading the Agile methodology and development teams in self-organization and identifying and filling in blanks in the framework
  • Experience mentoring and coaching the teams on removing impediments
  • Experience capturing feedback and documenting sprint reviews to administer project goals and improve team performance
Desirable Skills
  • Project Methodology certifications such as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Black/Green/Yellow Belt, etc.

  • Education Qualitifcations (40%):
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar agile certifications.
    • Strong understanding of both Scrum methodology and business analysis frameworks.
    • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and processes, particularly CI/CD pipelines.
    • Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and ensure productivity in an agile environment.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience Qualification (30%):
    • Advanced Certifications: PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master, or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certifications are highly desirable.
    • Experience in DevOps Environments: Previous experience as a Scrum Master and Business Analyst within a DevOps setting, bridging the gap between development and operations teams.
    • Familiarity with DevOps Tools: Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD processes.
    • Experience with Cloud and Containerization Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
    • Software Development Background: Experience in software development is advantageous, enabling better communication with technical teams.
    • Industry Knowledge: Experience in industries like finance, healthcare, or other regulated sectors is preferred.
  • Requirements Skillset (20%):
    • Scrum and Agile Expertise: Demonstrated ability to lead Agile ceremonies and implement Scrum principles effectively across development teams.
    • Business Process Modeling: Proficiency in modeling current and future business processes using tools like BPMN and process flow diagrams.
    • Requirements Gathering: Strong expertise in gathering and documenting business requirements, translating them into actionable user stories and process documents.
    • Backlog Management: Experience collaborating with Product Owners to manage product backlogs, ensuring the highest-priority work is well-defined and ready for development.
    • Gap Analysis and Problem-Solving: Ability to perform gap analysis, identifying areas for process improvement and making recommendations.
    • Agile Metrics Management: Skilled in tracking and analyzing Agile metrics (e.g., Burndown charts, Velocity) to drive team performance improvements.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Expertise in managing and balancing stakeholder needs while ensuring alignment with development priorities.
    • Conflict Resolution: Experience resolving conflicts within the team and between stakeholders to maintain harmony and productivity.
