Job summary

JDS Group of Companies is seeking a Senior Scheduler to lead project scheduling and short-term planning for mining and construction projects. The role emphasizes field execution, progress measurement, and schedule coordination with construction, engineering, and contractor teams.

The candidate will maintain Level 3 schedules in Primavera P6, develop 4-Week Lookaheads, measure physical progress, and provide regular schedule reporting to align field work with the overall project timeline,

Qualifications

• Proven experience maintaining Level 3 schedules and progress baselines in Primavera P6.
• Experience developing and updating 4-Week Lookahead schedules.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and schedule integrity skills.
• Ability to coordinate across construction, engineering, and contractor teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the 4-Week Lookahead (4WLA) schedule weekly, coordinating with construction, engineering, PM, and site personnel.
• Conduct bi-weekly bi-directional progress measurement and quantity tracking with field teams.
• Perform bi-weekly Primavera P6 updates: Level 3 schedule, progress, remaining durations, relationships, and logic.
• Coordinate engineering schedule updates with engineering contractors and incorporate into the overall project schedule.
• Maintain and coordinate WTP scheduling with project, engineering and construction teams, tracking milestones and conflicts.
• Prepare weekly summary schedules for project reporting and communicate variances and delays to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with site teams to reflect actual field conditions in schedules and participate in planning meetings.

Job description

The Senior Scheduler will lead project scheduling and short-term planning activities for mining and construction projects, with a strong focus on field execution, progress measurement, and schedule coordination. The ideal candidate has proven experience maintaining detailed Level 3 schedules in Primavera P6, developing and updating 4-Week Lookahead schedules, measuring physical progress, and coordinating schedule information across construction, engineering, and contractor teams.This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to schedule integrity, and the ability to work closely with both field and project teams to ensure schedules accurately reflect current progress and upcoming work. The Senior Scheduler will also provide regular schedule reporting and support coordination of WTP activities within the overall project schedule.

Responsibilities

4-Week Lookahead & Short-Term Planning:

• Maintain and update the 4-Week Lookahead (4WLA) schedule on a weekly basis.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Project Management, and site personnel to confirm upcoming activities, sequencing, priorities, and constraints.
• Ensure short-term schedules accurately reflect current site conditions and planned work.
• Identify upcoming activities, schedule constraints, and potential impacts to project execution.
• Maintain alignment between the 4WLA and the overall Level 3 project schedule.

Progress Measurement & Quantity Tracking:

• Conduct bi-weekly physical progress measurement and quantity tracking.
• Coordinate with field teams and discipline leads to collect and validate actual progress.
• Enter and maintain accurate progress information within the project schedule.
• Monitor planned versus actual progress and identify schedule variances.
• Ensure progress updates accurately reflect work completed in the field.

Primavera P6 & Schedule Updates:

• Perform bi-weekly updates of the overall Level 3 schedule in Primavera P6.
• Maintain activity status, actual progress, remaining durations, forecast dates, relationships, and schedule logic.
• Ensure the overall project schedule remains current and aligned with field execution.
• Coordinate schedule updates across construction, engineering, procurement, and other project activities as required.
• Identify schedule changes, variances, and potential impacts to key project milestones.

Engineering Schedule Coordination:

• Coordinate engineering schedule updates for engineering contractors.
• Track engineering activities, deliverables, milestones, and progress.
• Work with engineering contractors to obtain accurate schedule updates and ensure information is incorporated into the overall project schedule.
• Identify upcoming engineering deliverables and constraints that may impact construction activities.
• Maintain alignment between engineering schedules and site execution requirements.

WTP Scheduling & Coordination:

• Maintain and coordinate WTP scheduling updates.
• Work closely with WTP project, engineering, and construction teams to ensure activities and progress are accurately reflected in the schedule.
• Coordinate WTP activities with the overall Level 3 project schedule and 4-Week Lookahead.
• Track key WTP milestones, upcoming activities, and schedule requirements.
• Identify scheduling conflicts or constraints and communicate potential impacts to the project team.

Communication & Reporting:

• Prepare a weekly summary schedule for project reporting.
• Provide clear visibility into current progress, upcoming activities, key milestones, and schedule status.
• Prepare schedule information for project meetings and leadership reporting.
• Communicate schedule variances, constraints, and potential delays to relevant project stakeholders.
• Work closely with Project Management, Construction, Engineering, and contractors to maintain accurate and timely schedule information.

Field & Team Coordination:

• Collaborate closely with site personnel to ensure schedule information reflects actual field conditions.
• Participate in planning, progress, and scheduling meetings.
• Coordinate with contractors and discipline leads to obtain accurate progress and forecast information.
• Support a consistent approach to schedule updates, progress measurement, and short-term planning across the project.
• Maintain a high level of schedule integrity and ensure project teams have reliable information for planning and decision-making.
