Job summary

MDOS Consulting seeks a Senior SAP Developer ABAP Fiori for a client in Ottawa. The role requires extensive SAP ABAP, Fiori/UI5, and S/4HANA experience in a hybrid work setup with Ottawa-based and remote work options as approved.

Ideal candidates will hold a three-year degree, SAP certification, and multiple specialized SAP competencies, including integration suites, RAP, CDS views, and extensibility, with a strong focus on finance and controlling and municipal sector exposure.

Qualifications

• Three-year university degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems.
• One SAP valid certification.
• Professional development course related to SAP within the last 3 years.
• 15 years hands-on SAP ABAP development experience including ABAP OO and HANA performance tuning.
• 2 years of S4 HANA on-prem and/or S4 HANA Private cloud including end-to-end implementation or conversion.
• 5 years of SAP integration experience including SAP Integration Suite (A2A, B2B, and hybrid integrations).
• Hands-on experience in RAP with end-to-end delivery.
• 5 years of ABAP CDS views including data modeling, REST services, CDS hierarchies and embedded analytics enablement.
• 2 years of SAP extensibility in-app extension development.
• 4 years of SAP Fiori/UI5 experience including extensions and deployment across UI and backend.
• 3 years of Agile delivery using tools like Azure DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Finance and Controlling.
• 7 years designing and deploying custom ABAP applications from ground up.
• Experience in a Canadian municipal environment.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior SAP Developer ABAP Fiori for our client who meets the following criteria:

• Language: English.
• Security Clearance: Not Required.
• Location of Work: Hybrid - 100 Constellation Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K2G 5J9 or/and remotely as approved by the Project Authority/Manager.
• Mandatory requirements:
  • Must have a three-year university degree or three-year college diploma in Computer Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Must have one SAP valid certification.
  • Must have a professional development course, completed in the last 3 years, related to SAP or other related technologies.
  • Must have 15 years hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, including ABAP OO, debugging, and HANA-based performance optimization (code pushdown, SQL tuning, runtime improvement of custom programs).
  • Must have 2 years of S4 HANA on-prem and/or S4 HANA Private cloud including involvement in at least 1 end-to-end implementation or conversion, covering code remediation, simplification items, and upgrade activities (SPAU/SPDD).
  • Must have 5 years of SAP integration experience with SAP and non-SAP applications, including 3 years in SAP Integration Suite, delivering A2A, B2B, and hybrid integrations, along with monitoring, error handling, and production support.
  • Must have hands-on experience in RAP with delivery of at least one end-to-end application or service, including data modeling and OData exposure.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in ABAP CDS views including but not limited to Data modeling, development of REST services, CDS hierarchies and embedded analytics enablement.
  • Must have 2 years of experience in SAP extensibility, focused on in-app extension development, with adherence to clean core principles and minimizing core modifications.
  • Must have 4 years of SAP Fiori/UI5 experience, covering configuration, design, development, deployment, debugging, and extension of Fiori applications across both UI and backend layers, including standard Fiori app extensions, Fiori Elements, and freestyle UI5 application development.
  • Must have 3 years of working experience in Agile delivery, including use of tools like Azure DevOps for tracking and coordination.
  • Must have strong knowledge of SAP Finance and controlling area with ability to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Must have 7 years' experience designing, implementing, configuring, packaging and deploying custom applications from ground up using ABAP object-oriented design principles
  • Must have experience in working in a Canadian municipal environment
