Reuters is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer (SAP ABAP) in a hybrid Canada/Toronto setting. You will drive SAP ABAP development, lead integration efforts with SAP ECC and S/4 HANA, and mentor a team across geographies while collaborating with SAP as a partner.

The role emphasizes architecture design, AI-enabled development practices, and direct customer engagement in a fast-paced product environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, and at least 2 years in a lead role.
Deep expertise in OOP concepts beyond basic ALV/BADI usage.
Strong experience with web services (WSDL, SOAP, XML), Proxies, and SOAMANAGER.
Expert knowledge of SAP enhancement techniques aligned with SAP’s clean core principles.
Experience with AI coding tools to accelerate development and ensure secure AI-generated code.
Fluent English with strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced product development environment.
