Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Consultatively sell effective event, advertising, and sponsorship solutions to new and existing clients.
  • Soliciting new clients to exhibit and sponsor in assigned trade show(s).
  • Maintaining and growing sales relationships with existing clients.
  • Preparing and entering all contracts into Salesforce for timely processing.

Overview

Commission: In addition to a guaranteed hourly salary, the employee will be eligible for commissions. The employee will work on any event assigned per year, where they will be eligible for the following commissions:

  • 5% of all revenue sold on exhibition and sponsorship for new clients
  • 3% of all revenue sold on exhibition and sponsorship for existing clients, including upsells
  • 6% overage over and above your revenue sales target for the event

There may be potential additional commission incentive schemes provided on a case-by-case basis, depending on the event.

Experience & Skills

Experience: 5+ years’ experience in B2B conference sponsorship and exhibition sales, ideally in the energy sector. Experience in showcasing a strong sales skill set, including but not exclusively lead generation, cold calling, working with CRM systems, and cultivating sponsorship and exhibition proposals.

Terms & Conditions

Terms of Employment: Permanent/Full-time – Monday-Friday

Start date: As soon as possible

Compensation

Please note that the wage will be subject to the prevailing wage in Alberta for NOC 64101 at the time of hiring.

Responsibilities:

Job Duties:

  • Consultatively sell effective event, advertising, and sponsorship solutions to new and existing clients
  • Soliciting new clients to exhibit and sponsor in assigned trade show(s) within a defined and protected territory
  • Taking full ownership of your allocated clients, revenue targets, new business development, and reporting
  • Maintaining and grow sales relationships with existing clients
  • Making cold calls and having at least 30 conversations with clients daily
  • Researching potential new clients and prospects using various resources for business development
  • Actively participating in regular weekly sales meetings and host one meeting a month
  • Weekly reporting of all sales activity, pipeline and forecasts with accurate reporting to the Commercial Sales Director
  • Promoting and actively cross-selling into events within the dmg portfolio
  • Creating strong relationships through face-to-face meetings with existing clients to identify future opportunities
  • Working to achieve an industry-appropriate mix of clients whose products and services are displayed at each event
  • Allocating exhibition space and prioritizing client placement based on needs and featured products/services
  • Preparing sales presentations and proposals to generate sales contracts
  • Preparing and entering all contracts and/or supporting paperwork into Salesforce for timely processing
  • Utilizing Salesforce CRM to track, build and monitor your sales plan and targets
  • Participating in outside events to promote the company and industry presence
  • Assisting in move-in/move-out coordination and on-site floor management
  • Coordinating with production and marketing teams to target potential customers
  • Ensuring the overall level of sales & customer service meets company standards
  • Identify and solicit potential clients
  • Participate in staff meetings
  • Conduct sales calls
Qualifications
  • Excellent telephone sales manner with consistently high call and activity rates
  • 5+ years’ experience in B2B conference sponsorship and exhibition sales, ideally in the energy sector
  • Strong sales skills including lead generation, cold calling, CRM usage, and sponsorship/exhibition proposals
  • Ability to meet ambitious sales targets
  • Serial networker and social media savvy
  • Experience with contract management, budget management, and proposal writing
  • Experience using databases (preferably Salesforce) in mass and targeted campaigns
  • Ability to cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Customer-focused and ability to reach win/win agreements
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Knowledge of MS Office and social media
Compensation Note

$43.66 hourly
