What you can expect to do here:
- Lead teams and mentor junior staff utilizing proven leadership skills;
- Champion continuous improvement processes;

- Demonstrate proficiency with a variety of computer programs including specialized tools for heavy machinery;
- Plan, schedule, and estimate design engineering effort on projects from the conception of project design to the issue of all drawings and specifications for construction;
- Assist in the development of proposals;
- Prepare and/or review cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and elements of equipment design;
- Interpret project specifications and apply them to the relevant equipment;
- Monitor applicable design changes, contract extras, and support the development of change orders;
- Develop Scope of Work or Specifications for Mechanical Packaged Equipment.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Graduate in Mechanical Engineering;
- P.Eng. designation;
- 15+ years of previous rotating experience in an EPCM or turbomachinery equipment manufacturing environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, acting as an expert. Attend meetings, create equipment reports and communicate with different groups, including clients;
- Proven ability to produce high-quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines;
- Working knowledge in all areas of Rotating Equipment including:
– Centrifugal compressors
– Electrical motors
– Machinery in cryogenic application
– Dry Gas Seals and Mechanical seals
– Machinery overhauls and component repairs procedures
– Vibration, Noise Analysis & Rotor-Dynamics
– Machinery Performance analysis
– Anti-surge protection
– Condition Monitoring
– Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) - Ability to prioritize activities, adapt to change, and stay focused in a dynamic environment;
- Demonstrated skills in concept and developed design optimization programs to guide sound technical guidance for decision making;
- Knowledge of all client and corporate procedures;
- Demonstrated sensitivity and discretion when working with confidential information;
- Experience with piping, interconnecting wiring, instrumentation, ventilation, heating, skid and building;
- Shop and/or operations experience would be an asset;
- Ability to review P&ID’s, Line List, ISO’s. Knowledge of OPP and OPPSD Requirements.
