Job summary

Litens Automotive Group is seeking a Senior Robot Specialist to lead and optimize robotic automation across production lines in Canada. You will design, program, and commission robot systems, including AI camera interactions and vision-guided handling, while collaborating with PLC teams to ensure smooth integration.

The role requires 5–10 years in automation/assembly equipment, a Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent, and strong PLC programming skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering Technology or technologist.
• Strong PLC programming skills and computer proficiency.
• FANUC robot experience is an asset.
• 2D vision and 3D bin-picking experience required.
• Five to ten years of automation/assembly equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Program and oversee production robots during equipment design, build and commissioning.
• Perform robot simulations for new/existing lines and analyze cycle times.
• Develop robot programs for interactions with AI cameras and vision-guided systems.
• Set up and commission robots; adjust programs to improve efficiency and cycle times.
• Coordinate with PLC programmers for handshakes/PLC integration; document equipment.
• Support maintenance and train team members; develop robot standard program structure.

What you will do:

• Programs and oversees the smooth operation of production robots during equipment design, build and commissioning as well as equipment in production.
• Conduct Robot Simulations for new and existing lines as well as Robot Cycle Time analysis.
• Create robot programs on new equipment for interaction with AI Cameras.
• Program vision guided systems and create complete systems that interface material handling with robot applications.
• Setup and commission robots.
• Make adjustments to robot programs as required, including improving efficiency and cycle times for new and production equipment.
• Communicate with PLC Programmer for handshake / PLC integration.
• Documentation of equipment as required.
• Supporting maintenance operations and training maintenance team members as required.
• Develop robot standard program structure.
• Programming of stand-alone machines.

What you will bring:

• Electromechanical Engineering Technician / Technologist Diploma
• Must have strong computer skills / PLC knowledge and be able to program
• FANUC Robot experience an asset.
• Must have 2D Vision & 3D bin picking experience
• Five to Ten years automation / assembly equipment experience

Additional Information:

Compensation: $ 105,000 to $ 110,000 annually
