iA Financial Group is seeking a Senior Risk Management Advisor to support the Individual Insurance, Savings and Retirement sector. You will promote risk-taking aligned with priorities, coordinate with risk and compliance teams, and build trusted relationships across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a risk management role.
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of risk management concepts and best practices.
  • Ability to influence and build trusted relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate risk management frameworks, methodologies and tools within the business sector.

What You'll Accomplish With Us
  • Participate in the integration of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools within the business sector, adapting them to business realities.
  • Ensure coordination and alignment with various stakeholders, including corporate risk management and compliance functions.
  • Strengthen the understanding and adoption of risk management practices, as well as a proactive and integrated risk management culture across business teams.
  • Build trusted relationships with managers and business partners within the sector and develop a deep understanding of their challenges and priorities.
  • Support business teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks by providing a structured methodology and tailored advice.
  • Develop recommendations that support informed decision-making and assist in the development of action plans aimed at mitigating risks.
  • Develop and enhance risk monitoring mechanisms, including risk indicators, operational risk events, and control effectiveness.
  • Prepare analyses, executive summaries, and presentations for governance committees and decision-making bodies.
  • Participate in the definition and continuous improvement of the team’s standards, methods, processes, and tools.
What Could Accelerate Your Success In This Role
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Has a minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar risk management role.
  • Has experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of risk management concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Possesses a strong ability to understand business challenges, think strategically, and anticipate risks that may affect the achievement of objectives.
  • Is recognised for their ability to influence, advise, and build trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Stands out for their strong analytical and judgement skills, enabling them to provide recommendations tailored to the context.
  • Demonstrates the ability to simplify complex topics and communicate effectively with different audiences.
  • Has an intermediate level of English and an advanced level of French proficiency, as the role involves communicating by email and phone with English-speaking and French-speaking clients and partners across Canada on a daily basis.
