We are looking for a professional and ambitious Senior Risk Consultant, specializing in Property / Casualty operations with emphasis on Farm loss prevention to join our Risk Engineering team. The successful candidate will be adept with previous experience at conducting risk assessments on commercial and farm properties identify risks / exposures and sharing this expertise with their underwriting partners. Utilizing your expertise and relationship building skills, you will meet with advisors, clients and underwriting to conduct a physical survey of the insured operations. Commercial risk assessment experience is required. How you will create impact :
- Conduct risk evaluation services (property and liability) through site surveys to identify and evaluate loss exposure, hazards, and controls for risks.
- Provide meaningful recommendations for loss prevention improvements through analysis of construction, occupancy, protection, exposures, hazards, fire protection systems, etc.
- Provide consultative risk improvement services and training to advisors and underwriters.
- Ensure assessments are completed in a cost-effective, timely and productive manner in accordance with specified service standards.
- Establish positive relationships with clients and maintain strong relationships with internal staff and external service providers.
- Provide regular coaching sessions to manage performance and support each member of the team to progress.

To join our team :
- A degree or diploma in Engineering, Agriculture or a related field of equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and relevant fire and building codes is required.
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in loss control / risk engineering focusing on commercial and farm risk
- In progress or completion of insurance-related loss prevention courses (Building Construction, Basic Hazards, special hazards and processes, liability loss prevention).
- Specialized skills in trades or fire protection and prevention fields are considered assets.
- CIP and / or CRM designation is an asset.
- Infrared Thermography Level 1 and Level 2 is an asset.

- Extensive travel may be required with emphasis on driving. Current valid drivers license is required.
- A company vehicle will be provided for this role.
- Extended work hours may be required.
- Potential exposure to conditions that require health and safety protection, such as chemicals, noise, dust and debris.
- This role involves direct contact with clients and / or service providers in their environment.
- You will work on a virtual team or remotely a significant amount of time. A high degree of autonomy is required.

Expected Salary Range : $81,731.00 - $136,218.00
- The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to : local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
