We are seeking a professional and ambitious Senior Risk Consultant specializing in Property/Casualty operations with an emphasis on Farm loss prevention to join our Risk Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting risk assessments on commercial and farm properties, identifying risks and exposures, and sharing expertise with underwriting partners. You will meet with advisors, clients, and underwriters to conduct physical surveys of insured operations. Commercial risk assessment experience is required. Develop your ability to see the big picture, think creatively, and challenge the status quo while working with industry-leading professionals.

How you will create impact:
  • Conduct risk evaluation services (property and liability) through site surveys to identify and evaluate loss exposures, hazards, and controls.
  • Provide recommendations for loss prevention improvements based on analysis of construction, occupancy, protection, hazards, and fire protection systems.
  • Offer consultative risk improvement services and training to advisors and underwriters.
  • Complete assessments efficiently and in accordance with service standards.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, internal staff, and external service providers.
  • Provide coaching to support team performance and development.

To join our team:
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Agriculture, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire/building codes.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in loss control/risk engineering for commercial and farm risks.
  • Progress or completion of insurance-related loss prevention courses.
  • Trades, fire protection skills, or related assets are a plus.
  • CIP and/or CRM designation is an asset.
  • Infrared Thermography Level 1 and 2 are assets.

  • Extensive travel, with emphasis on driving, is required; a valid driver’s license is necessary.
  • A company vehicle will be provided.
  • Extended work hours may be necessary.
  • Exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, and debris may occur.
  • Direct contact with clients and service providers in their environment.
  • This role involves remote work and a high degree of autonomy.

Expected Salary Range: $81,731 - $136,218. The final salary will depend on various factors including experience, skills, and location.
