The Senior Resource Geologist at IAMGOLD plays a critical role in supporting operations and strategic initiatives while ensuring best practices maximize value and minimize risk. Reporting to the Senior Director of Mining Geology, you work closely with teams across the organization, including mine sites and project locations, providing geological expertise that strengthens IAMGOLD’s projects. You are involved in conducting detailed resource assessments, validating geological models, and upholding data integrity while leveraging advanced geological software and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive governance and compliance by helping site teams improve resource models to meet industry standards.
• Develop and enforce policies, guidelines, and SOPs for mineral resource and reserve estimation, ensuring site compliance.
• Support MRMR exercises, audits, and reporting, and contribute to reconciliation and reporting practices across sites.
• Assist in preparing and filing NI 43-101 Technical Reports or similar regulatory documents.
• Assess mineral resource estimation processes, geostatistical data, and QA/QC protocols.
• Evaluate geological models, reconciliation processes, and support grade control models.
• Conduct mine site visits for due diligence, prepare technical reports, and provide training and support.

Qualifications

To succeed, you need:

• A post-secondary degree in geology or geological engineering.
• Membership in a recognized professional association in Ontario or Québec.
• Experience in resource estimation, database validation, and 3D modeling in a production environment.
• Knowledge of database management, QA/QC principles, and relationship between planning and mineral estimation.
• Experience in open-pit and/or underground mining, including reconciliation and grade controls.
• Proficiency in geological software such as Leapfrog, Gems, MineSight, or Vulcan.
• Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and Power BI is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
